What is SendVia?

Who are SendVia customers?

SendVia was made specifically for diaspora communities that financially support their families back home (in their countries of origin). We know that you are often the safety net during life’s hardest moments – a medical emergency, a typhoon, a death in the family – but this affects your financial stability as well. SendVia allows you to help both yourself and your family back home financially prepare for difficult moments, making you more resilient.

How secure are my purchases?

Your purchase is secure with us. We use the most up-to-date technology and providers to make sure your SendVia care product experience is fast, secure, and transparent, keeping you and your receiver informed every step of the way.

How do I get a refund?

We understand that this purchase might be new to you and might not be what you expect. If you’re not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, please contact us and we’ll process a refund for you. Refunds typically take 5-10 business days to process.

How does my loved one receive the gift card and insurance policy? And how fast?

Upon your purchase, your loved one will receive SMS text message (data rates may apply), and an email if an address was provided, where they will be notified of the purchase you made. They will have the option to accept or decline the care product. If they accept the product, they will be immediately enrolled in the insurance policy and will receive the gift card 3 – 5 business days later.

Where can my loved one use the gift card?

Your loved one can use the gift card at any Sodexo Mobile Pass Merchant in the Philippines. Learn more about Sodexo’s network here.

How does my loved one enroll in the insurance policy?

After you purchase the care product, your loved one will receive an email with the option to accept the product. Once they accept, they will be enrolled in the insurance and receive an email from CARD Pioneer Microinsurance containing confirmation of enrollment and the Sodexo Mobile Pass gift cards.

How does my loved one make a claim?

All claims are handled locally by our partner in the Philippines. Your loved one will receive that information when they accept the insurance policy. You may rest assured that the claim process for these insurance policies is fast and easy.

What if my loved one does not want the insurance?

If your loved one does not want to enroll in the insurance, they have the option to not accept the insurance policy. In this case, the money will be refunded to you, the purchaser.

How is SendVia able to not charge fees for this service?

At SendVia, we know the cost of sending money can be expensive with inflated exchange rates and service fees. By linking with partners and providers who understand the role and desires of family abroad, we’re able to provide you exactly what you paid for without the additional costs, taxes and fees.

I see the term microinsurance. How is that different from insurance?

Microinsurance is just like regular insurance, with some special touches for people that may not have incomes as high as your traditional insurance policyholder and whose financial needs may be more immediate after an adverse event. Microinsurance policies are simple, easy to understand, more affordable than your typical insurance products, and have an easy and expedited claims process -- getting benefits to your loved ones when they need them most.

Why can I only purchase SendVia care products from the U.S. for people in the Philippines?

We’re glad you asked! Currently, SendVia is only active in the U.S.-Philippines corridor because we are just getting started. We plan to expand to more receiving and sending countries. Stay tuned!
